We’re proud to share that we have been included in a research project with the Centre for Cultural Value looking at Covid-19’s impact on the cultural sector which we have been involved with over the past year and a half. Titled ‘Culture in Crisis: Impacts of Covid-19 on the UK cultural sector and where we go from here’, we’re pleased to be putting a spotlight on Coventry and the experience of a smaller organisation.
The report demonstrates that we were flexible/active/reactive/strategic and compassionate during the pandemic. It’s also wonderful to be able to include the poem ‘This Poem Is For You’ by Andrea Mbarushimana with photo by Andy Moore. You can take a read of the full report here – we are on page 54, or spread 28 of the PDF. You can also read more around the report here.
The Centre for Cultural Value is building a shared understanding of the differences that arts, culture, heritage and screen make to people’s lives and to society and have lots of resources available at their website.
A quote from our inclusion in the report below:
“The pandemic experience has written itself into the company’s future plans by further highlighting the inaccessibility of many cultural spaces and places to the team. These plans involve short-term residencies in other public spaces around Coventry alongside some form of digital and online delivery. Alongside this comes a desire to act and make work with greater care and compassion for themselves as theatre producers, and for others.”
