During the summer, we hosted ten Theatre Labs for freelance independent artists in Coventry. The labs are an opportunity for theatre practitioners, musicians or visual artists to have space to think about their process, pilot and play with ideas without the pressure of creating an ‘end product’.
Artists included Connor Alexander, Mélissandre Varin (inc. Jb and Eole), Jessica Timms, Glenn Noble, Alexandra Johnson, Wes Finch, Sinead Brady, Amy Kakoura, Kamila Nowysz and Lou Sarabadzic.
“This was a tremendous opportunity to explore and develop new work which had been stifled or frustrated by the Covid 19 pandemic…For me and my practice, having a dedicated time and place for free exploration as well as the physical space of the Shopfront was incredibly useful.” Connor Alexander
