Coventry Local Artists Development fund 2022

A fund to support Coventry based writers, performers, artists, stage managers, technicians, musicians, designers, producers (or whatever the discipline!) at any stage of their career, who need financial support in their professional development.

We have created this fund to support Coventry based writers, performers, artists, stage managers, technicians, musicians, designers, producers (or whatever the discipline!) at any stage of their career, who need financial support in their professional development. The money can be used for attending an event, such as a writing/theatre workshop or industry conference, or it can be used to support a train fare, an overnight stay, attending a seminar, an exhibition etc. (Access support will be paid in addition to the funds as required).

The Coventry Local Artists Development Fund has a total value of £2000. Each application is capped at a limit of £200, however if an applicant needs for example, £70 in total, for a train fare to attend a workshop, it means we still have a more funds left to go a little further to support someone else.

The fund is available on a rolling deadline until all of the funds are spent.

Please drop an email to chris@theatreabsolute.co.uk  with a brief line and costings about the professional development opportunity plus the total support requested.

This fund has been made possible with thanks to a private donation here in Coventry to Theatre Absolute.

Julia Negus, Producer at Theatre Absolute says:  “We are mindful that for many people there are many barriers to continuing their creative professional practice, we hope this fund can go towards supporting the local independent and freelance arts sector here in Coventry. From experience, I also acknowledge that applications for funding/bursaries etc., are sometimes impenetrable and onerous (even if the amount requested is sometimes relatively small), so I hope this process is simple and the recipients enjoy their experience, which in turn gives them inspiration for new work, that we all can benefit from here in Coventry.”
